This multifunctional transceiver provides a common platform for variety of Ethernet and IP based capability. This extension of the Navigator II product accepts a selection of firmware loads, each providing this transceiver with specific capabilities and features. The Navigator II E is available in both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHZ bands.
Terminal Server Option allows the unit to provide the functionality of an on-board terminal server for easy integration into a hardwire network. In this configuration the Navigator II E serves as a master on the network.
On Board Nav-Link Option puts a “lite” version of the Intuicom Nav-Link TCP/IP bridging functionality on board the Navigator II E. This provides for a powerful master radio with simple connectivity and no need to run the Networking software or maintain the networked PC. In this configuration the Navigator II E serves as a master on the network.
Wireless IP Router Option provides the ability to effectively link a remote IP interfaced device to a network. Utilizing the Navigator II E IP interfaces on both the remote and the master side, this option provides “routed” IP communication across the wireless links. This device forwards packets between devices or networks based on network layer information and routing tables. This routing functionality provides a means of filtering and directing data and makes it possible to efficiently connect the Navigator II E to a network. In this configuration the Navigator II E serves as a master and the remote on the network. An example of the Wireless Router Option in use would be using the Navigator II E to wirelessly connect a Trimble NetRS™ GPS receiver to a network.
